Course Description
Delivering a skillset primed for timed-writing like that found in high school’s ACT and SAT, as well as middle-school’s DBQ’s, and RTL’s, the On-Demand Writing class prepares students for efficient time-management idea production. Upon viewing a prompt or questions, students will be able to determine the genre of writing required of them, from expository, informational, persuasive, or analytical, and deliver in a timely fashion. Students with a foundation from prior Writing Workshop will find that this course enables them to excel in all test-style writing. From brainstorming, to outlining, drafting, and revising, your student will understand the ins and outs of literary test success.
What to Expect?
Each week, Ms. Moss will introduce students to a new genre of writing while building fundamental habits that apply to academic writing as a complete discipline for high school development. In addition, students will receive feedback for all their written homework, which they are to document in their “Personal Record of Writing Skills” sheet, included as part of your Welcome Package. Parents may keep track of student progress by reviewing their student’s Personal Record of Writing Skills, with Ms. Moss and LitQuest staff ready to provide detailed clarity in response to any questions. Over the course of the next ten weeks, your students will learn the following genre-specific components in conjunction with the latter conventions and habits.
